Thank you to all who made our open day on 18 October such a success: parents, grandparents and friends, St Mary’s staff, and in particular our wonderful year 5 and year 6 children who led more than 200 visitors on guided tours of our new school.
Here are our new Sport Ambassadors from Year 5 who recently got trained up at the Purbeck School. They have already put their skills to good use by helping with wake and shake.

Every child in school has contributed a work of art, now framed and displayed just like in a real gallery. Come and see them on Saturday 18th October from 10am – 12 noon at our Open Day.

Years 4, 5 & 6 had a fantastic morning on the RSPB Bird Boat, sailing round Poole Harbour. We all had binoculars and many adults to help us identify the birds we saw: avocet, black-tailed godwit, curlew, shelduck, cormorant, great black backed gull, common gull, sandwich tern, pied wagtail, peregrine falcon, little egret, spoonbill, teal, great northern diver. Thank you very much to the RSPB who organized the whole thing: a great day!
“This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118.
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Psalm 150
The above Bible passages were chosen by Year 6 and Mrs. Lake to take pride of place in the entrances of our new school. Year 6 used the work of artist Hope. G. Smith as inspiration for their ideas and worked with local artist Antonia Philips to create two beautiful canvases.
