Year 5 travelled to the Safewise Centre in Weymouth to learn about keeping themselves and other safe in a variety of situations. We identified fire hazards in a home and how to prevent them. If we were to be in a situation with fire we learnt to GET OUT, STAY OUT and CALL 999.
After experiencing a real fire (behind safety glass) we moved outdoors to learn about road safety. We used different types of road crossings whilst others were driving around ‘Safety Town’ in mobility scooters!
Last Friday disaster struck our partner school in Uganda when the year 1 and boy’s dormitory roofs were severely damaged by torrential rain and storms. We are asking for extra support to help them to repair the damage swiftly. Sadly, many books and other resources were also lost.
Help with the fundraising by making and/or buying cakes after school on Friday 7th April @ 3.15pm.
