The evacuees form Year 6 arrived safely at Swanage Railway Station. They then enjoyed hospitality at the British Restaurant that re-opened (for one day only) at Swanage United Reformed Church. Whilst they were there they enjoyed a lunch of baked beans, mash and corned beef rissoles followed by jam tart and custard! Music was provided by Spike’s gramophone. They were joined for lunch by some visitors who shared their wartime memories of Swanage. The day finished with a good old sing song!
Many thanks to the URC for hosting the event.
