Year 5 CAFOD speeches

Speeches in Hall (3).JPG

Year 5 have been working with CAFOD to write and perform speeches that speak out on behalf of those who are less fortunate than us. They have spent time over the last few weeks collecting information and then organising this into a speech which they performed in front of their class.  The winning 4 speaking pairs then performed again in front of year 5 and 6 and some invited guests including out town Mayor Mr Mike Bonfield.  Many thanks to all our visitors on the afternoon, to Bea (our CAFOD link teacher), and of course to Year 5 themselves for all their hard work. You can find more pictures of this event on the Year 5 class page.

Year 6 have been using their persuasive writing skills to write letters to Mr White to persuade him to buy some Fairtrade match balls. When Bea had heard about this she kicked off the collection with a donation of a new Fairtrade football!
