Fun Run!

What a sight! Congratulations to all the runners who took part: our brilliant children, staff, parents, siblings, friends and family, firefighters and lifeboat crew. Also our support team of stampers and drinks monitors. The total number of laps recorded was 2896 which we think is over 1000km (or the distance to drive from Swanage to Inverness!). A great St Mary’s occasion.

Bedtime Stories

Some fine onesies, slippers and bears made an appearance as more than 80 children came back to school last night for bedtime stories and hot chocolate in their classrooms.

St Mary’s 3-1 Stoborough

We won! Today saw the St Mary’s Yr 5 & 6 football team bring home the Purbeck Cup.
Congratulations to all the triumphant players and to Mr White. Thank you to the tournament organiser and sponsor, and all the supporters through the (long!) season.

Bombs and Blackberries – Year 6 play

Congratulations must go to year 6 for a very successful performance of the play Bombs and Blackberries by Julia Donaldson.  The audience packed the school hall and they were treated to a humorous and heartfelt rendition of a story, set in WW2, about evacuees and their adventures in the countryside; the escapades of their families.  The children have worked really hard during the last few weeks to learn lines and put together a very polished performance.

Sponsored Walk

Our amazing children! Thank you to all parents and carers who helped on the walks, and to all who have pledged sponsorship. We had a great – rather hot – day out. Between them, the children walked almost 750 miles!

Goodbye to Miss Trish

After deciding that marching is not a winter sport, we laid on a lovely indoor ‘march & sing’ to say goodbye to Miss Trish who is leaving us after many years. Staff and children will miss her and took this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for all her help and hard work.
