Horse and Pony club is a new club that has started this term for years 3 and 4. This week we designed and built show jumps during our lunch time club. After school, we were extremely lucky to have two special visitors!
Congratulations to our Year 4 journalists on the first issue of St M News. Thank you to governor Mrs E Tylek for all your hard work in getting this project off the ground.
Year 3, 4 and 5 enjoyed a show by the Watoto Children’s Choir at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Year 4 raised a magnigicent £235.85 in their sponsored activities yesterday. Congratulations to you all and thank you to parents and friends for such generous support. The children have decided to buy:
- Help a Child Refugee £46
- 10 mosquito nets £70
- The Gift of Play £27
- £92.85 donated to Christian Aid and doubled by the government.
Details of all their CAFOD choices here.
The girls of the maths club made a brilliant job of shopping, writing menus, taking orders and giving change. They raised over £50 for Brother John and our partner school in Uganda. Thank you to Mrs Gadston and Miss Meteau for organising the cafe, and to Mrs Nash for the scones.
Year 4 and Year 6 share books with their new reading buddies.
Year 4 entered Swanage Cricket Club’s Annual school competition determined to bring the trophy back to school for a second time.
Although a little disheartened when they saw the opponents were mainly year 5 and 6 pupils, they battled on and won two of their first three games. This saw them in the final against St Mark’s. We batted first and saw numerous 4s and 6s flying through the boundaries in all directions, reaching an awesome 296 at the end of the innings. Our fielding carried on in a spectacular fashion with many wickets being taken at the stumps. St Mark’s played well but couldn’t reach our total.
Well done to the team for bringing back the trophy!
Year 4 and 6 share their responses to the new library books. Watch out for their reviews on the corridor book shelves.
Congratulations to all the St Mary’s children who competed so successfully in the Purbeck Cross-Country Running Competition.
